Local authorities at the Al Haouz province confirmed, Thursday, that a vehicle is being buried under a massive landslide triggered by the heavy rainfalls on Wednesday, MAP reports. The vehicle is carrying an unknown number of passengers who are trapped inside.
In a statement issued, Thursday, the Interior Ministry revealed that firefighters and the local authorities are doing everything they could to rescue the passengers stuck inside and then clear the road that has been blocked since Wednesday.
Meanwhile, local online newspaper Kech24 spoke to eyewitness who survived the tragedy. The newspaper was told that said vehicle was trapped under the mud.
The public prosecutor’s office announced on the same day the opening of an investigation to determine the circumstances of tragedy.
