In a statement published, Tuesday, the Royal Cabinet announced that King Mohammed VI’s birthday will no longer be celebrated in an official ceremony. In the same communiqué, he ordered «that starting from this year, no official ceremony will be held at the Royal Palace to celebrate his birthday».

King Mohammed VI had previously instructed several institutions and bodies to commemorate the Throne Day, celebrated on July 30, in an «moderate way and without additional special events».
