The Dutch public prosecution department said Monday that there is no «evidence of political interference» in the trial of far-right MP Geert Wilders for discriminating against Moroccans in the Netherlands.

According to Dutch News, the Dutch politician wanted the prosecution to drop the charges against him, claiming that «the decision-making process» was politically influenced.

The same source reported that the hearings in Wilders’ «fewer Moroccans» trial will soon be resumed.

In 2014, Wilders told the crowds that «the Hague should be a city with fewer problems, if possible, fewer Moroccans».

He then asked his followers whether they want more or fewer Moroccans in the city and they chanted repeating «fewer, fewer, fewer». Wilders responded saying : «We will take care of that».

In December 2016, he was found guilty of «inciting discrimination against Dutch Moroccans».
