Hirak leading figures Nasser Zefzafi and Nabil Ahamjik, currently serving a 20-year prison sentence, began a hunger strike on Wednesday.

Tafra, an association founded by the families of Hirak detainees, announced on its Facebook page that the two Hirak detainees have seen their health deteriorate. The detainees want to be assisted and «have all Hirak detainees gathered in one prison».

The association added that the detainees want to call their families 30 minutes per three days a week instead of 15 minutes every two days. They also want to be «granted family visits in accordance with the law».

The two Hirak leading figures also called for taking longer breaks «during the day» because «closing the doors permanently affects their health and allergies».
