In a video shared on social media, a Moroccan woman, who is quarantined in a public hospital in Morocco, denounced the condition of the unit she is staying at. In her video, she tours the containment unit, complaining about the lack of hygiene. She also criticized the fact that the unit «had been deserted by doctors and nurses».
The Moroccan woman shows her room, denouncing the fact that she was «told to clean it herself».
She criticized the lack of medical equipment, the state of the bathroom and shower among other things. She even entered neighboring rooms while filming in order to «denounce» the state of this confinement unit.
Hospital director dismissed, patient prosecuted
The author of the video also denounced «the behavior of the doctors» towards the patients of said unit. «They speak to us without going through the doors of our rooms, frightened. They ask us not to come near when they come visit. We need care! Why are we here?», she asked.
The three-minute long video would have created an uproar within the Ministry of Health. A well-informed source at the Ministry of Health told Yabiladi on Tuesday that the video was filmed in a hospital in Salé, where the patient is quarantined.
An inquiry has been launched by the Ministry of Health who allegedly «dismissed the director of the hospital in question for misconduct», the same source added.
A complaint has also been filed against the Moroccan woman who filmed this video. «She broke the law by leaving her room and breaking her isolation. She thus endangered her life and that of the other patients at the same unit», the same source added.
«The state of health of the various patients is stable and does not raise any concern but this gesture could have aggravated the situation», the same source concluded.
