Morocco records 110 new coronavirus cases, mostly in a Casablanca hotspot

As of Wednesday, May 20, Morocco recorded 110 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 7,133.

Most of the new cases were recorded in an industrial unit in Casablanca, said Mohamed Lyoubi, head of the epidemiology department at the Ministry of Health, during the daily press.

The rest were recorded in hotspots discovered in Casablanca, in the Fès-Meknès and Tanger-Tétouan Al Hoceima regions.

During the past 24 hours, Morocco recorded a new death, 194 in total, bringing the fatality rate to  2.7%.

197 new recoveries were recorded in Morocco, bringing the number recoveries to 4,098. The cure rate thus stands at 57.5%.
