Mauritania’s Foreign Affairs Minister had, Friday, a phone call with his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita, the Mauritanian news agency reports. During this call, Bourita informed Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed that following royal instructions a plane full of medical supplies will be sent to Mauritania.

The aid is a way for Morocco to support the neighboring country in its fight against the coronavirus. The Mauritanian minister welcomed the support and discussed with his counterpart the possibility of benefiting from the Kingdom’s experience in the fight against Covid-19.

This operation comes only three days after an Algerian delegation headed by the country’s Foreign Affairs Minister Sabri Boukadoum flew to Nouakchott.

For the record, Algeria repatriated Mauritanian students stranded in China.
