Coronavirus tests carried out by the government of Canary Islands on migrants arriving from Morocco and rescued by the maritime authorities have shown 14 confirmed cases.

According to Spanish agency EFE, sources within the Ministry of Health claimed that these infections were recorded among a group of migrants who arrived from the kingdom on a boat that wrecked by Fuerteventura, the second largest island in the Canary Islands, 100 km away from the Moroccan coast.

EFE, however, does not reveal whether the migrants are sub-Saharan or Moroccan.
