534 new coronavirus cases recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 13,822.
97% of the new cases were in close contact with previously detected cases. 169 recoveries were also recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 9,329, with a recovery rate of 67.5%. 2 new deaths were also recorded in Morocco, bringing the death toll to 232, with a fatality rate of 1.7%.
266 of the new cases were recorded in the Marrakech-Safi region, including 253 in an industrial unit in Safi, 9 in Marrakech and 4 in Kelat Sraghna.
Fez-Meknes recorded 93 infections, including 92 in Fez and one in Moulay Yacoub. Casablanca-Setta followed with 59 new cases, including 45 in Casablanca, 10 in Médiouna and 4 in Mohammedia. Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima recorded 55 cases, 36 in Tangier, 14 in Tetouan, 4 in Larache and one in Ouazzane. All 34 cases in Laayoune-Es Sakia El Hamra are located in the city of Laayoune.
Rabat-Salé-Kénitra recorded 9 cases, including 7 in Kénitra and 2 in Sidi Kacem. Beni Mella-Khénifra recorded 7 infections in the past 24 hours, namely 6 in Fqih Bensalah and one in Beni Mellal. 7 in the Oriental region, including 6 in Oujda and one in Jerada.
3 cases were recorded in the Guelmim-Oued Noun, including 2 in Tan Tan and one in Sidi Ifni. Only one case tested positive in Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab, in the city of Dakhla. Morocco has 4,261 active cases. 18 of them are in a critical condition.
