Morocco records 164 new coronavirus cases and a record number of new recoveries

164 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 14,771.

677 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 11,316.

Two deaths were recorded during the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 242. Morocco has 3,213 active cases.

Most of the new cases were recorded in Casablanca-Settat, 49 new infections : 28 in Casablanca, 12 in Sidi Bennour, four in Settat three in Mohammedia, one in Berrchid and one in Mediouna.

Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima recorded 42 new cases. The region of Fez-Meknes recorded 21 new cases : 13 in Fez, 5 in Meknes, two in Taounate and one case in Ifrane, while 14 new cases were confirmed in Marrakech-Safi : 13 in El Haouz and one in Kelaa des Sraghna. The Oriental region recorded 14 cases.

12 new cases were recorded in the city of Laayoune and 5 in Sidi Ifni (Guelmim-Oued Noun).

Rabat-Salé-Kénitra had six new cases : 5 in Sidi Kacem and one in Sidi Slimane. One case was recorded in the city of Khenifra.
