Morocco records 283 new coronavirus cases, mainly in Fez, Tangier and Casablanca

283 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 16,545.

144 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 13,965, with a recovery rate of 84.4%.

Four deaths were recorded between Wednesday and Thursday, bringing the death toll to 265. Morocco has currently 2,317 active cases, 29 of them are in a critical condition.  

Most of the new cases were recorded in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceïma, with 86 cases. 69 in Tangier, 9 in Al Fahs Anjra, 4 cases Tetouan, three cases in M'diq one case in Al Hoceima.

Next comes Fez-Meknes, with 71 new cases : 69 cases in Fez, one case in Taounate and one case in Boulmane. 51 cases were recorded in Casablanca-Settat, including 46 cases in Casablanca, three cases in Mediouna, one case in El Jadida and one case in Berrchid.

Marrakech-Safi had 44 new confirmed cases : 25 in Marrakech, 18 in Safi and one case in El Haouz. As for the Oriental region, 14 cases were recorded : 13 cases in Oujda and one case in Jerada.

In Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 9 new infections were identified : 5 in Rabat, two cases in Salé, one case in Sidi Slimane and one case in Témara.

In the southern provinces, six cases were identified in Dakhla (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab), one case was recorded in Laayoune (Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra) and one case was identified in Guelmim (Guelmim-Oued Noun).
