Moroccan goalkeeper Mounir El Kajoui wins the Zamora Trophy

Atlas Lions goalkeeper Mounir El Kajoui has won the Zamora Trophy, a football award, established by Spanish newspaper MARCA in 1958.

The Moroccan player and Malaga CF goalkeeper was awarded for his performance during the 2019-2020 season. During the 38 appearances he made, El Kajoui conceded 29 goals.

Mounir is an indisputable goalkeeper at the Andalusian club. He is, moreover, not the only Moroccan goalkeeper to win the Zamora trophy. Badou Zaki won the trophy in 1989. The former captain of the Moroccan football team was the goalkeeper for FC Mallorca at the time.
