1,283 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 28,500.
365 new recoveries were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 19,994.
18 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 435. These deaths were recorded in Tangier (13), Marrakech (2), Tétouan (1), Fez (1) and Casablanca (1).
Morocco now has 8,071 active cases under treatment (22.2 Moroccans per 100,000 inhabitants), most of them are in the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma (2,343), Fez-Meknes (1,928), Casablanca-Settat ( 1795), Marrakech-Safi (857) and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (595 cases) regions.
108 cases are in a serious or critical condition because of age and / or chronic diseases, including 19 others on ventilators. These cases are located in Casablanca-Settat (38), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma (26), Marrakech-Safi (22), Fès-Meknes (12), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (8) and Souss Massa (2).
The majority of new cases recorded in 5 regions
94% of new cases were recorded in 5 regions : Casablanca-Settat, Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, Fès-Meknès, Marrakch-Safi and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, while 2/3 of cases were recorded in 4 cities : Casablanca, Fez, Tangier and Marrakech.
Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceïma tops the list with 322 new cases : 296 in Tangier, 23 in Al Fahs Anjra, two cases in Tetouan and one case in Al Hoceima. Next comes Marrakech-Safi with 296 cases : 262 in Marrakech, 14 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 10 in Al Haouz province, 7 in El Youssoufia, one case in Rhamna province, one case in Chichaoua and another one in Safi .
In Casablanca-Settat, 249 new cases were confirmed : 203 in Casablanca, 23 in Settat, 9 in Mediouna, 7 in Mohammedia, 6 in El Jadida and one case in Benslimane. Fez-Meknes recorded, for its part, 201 cases : 110 in Fez, 48 in Sefrou, 27 in Meknes, 12 in Moulay Yacoub, 3 in Boulmane and one case in Ifrane.
Rabat-Salé-Kénitra has 136 cases : 68 in Sidi Kacem, 26 in Rabat, 17 in Salé, 17 in Témara, 4 cases in Khmissat and 4 in Kénitra.
26 cases were recorded in Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra, 25 in Tarfaya and one case in Laayoune. In Beni Mellal-Khénifra, 22 cases were confirmed : 15 in Beni Mellal, three in Khénifra, two cases in Fqih Bensalah and two cases in Khouribga.
13 cases were discovered in the Oriental region (7 in Nador, 3 in Oujda, two cases in Dirouach and one case in Taourit), 10 in Drâa-Tafilalet (8 cases in Midelt, one case in Errachidia and one case in another in Tinghir), 5 in Souss-Massa (3 in Agadir, one case in Tiznit and another in Inzeggane) and 3 in Dakhla (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab).
