Morocco to start school year on September 7

The Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research has issued a ministerial decision on the organization of the 2021-2020 school year. In a press release, the department stressed, Thursday, that the start of the school year will take into account current health crisis.

The same source indicates that the start of the school year will be on September 1, nine days before the end of the state of health emergency (unless extended).

«As part of the preventive measures taken to deal with the spread of the pandemic, this decision will be modified and adapted according to what the developments of the epidemiological situation», the ministry added.

In this sense, the period from 1 to 5 September «is devoted to putting in place the conditions to ensure the start of the school year, as well as the completion of the various technical processes for this purpose». Thus, classes will begin effectively Monday, September 7,  for primary and secondary students.
