The creation of the Sahrawi Movement for Peace (MSP) has brought new life into the Sahara. In a letter, Mustapha Salma urged the mayor of Laayoune to lead an initiative to unify Sahrawis. Some see it as the beginning of a relaunch of the Sahrawi National Union party, founded in 1974 by Khelihenna Ould Errachid.
