After the Justice and Develoment Party has called Moroccans to rally for Palestine last Sunday in Rabat, thousands of people marched today in Casablanca to denounce the Israeli occupation.
Tens of thousands of protesters took the streets today in Rabat to support the Palestinian people and denounce the recent decision of U.S. President Donald Trump recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Several sources have announced on Tuesday the death of Iman El Attabi. The young Hirak activist was hit in the head during the clashes that broke off on the 20th of July amid the march that was prohibited by the local authorities in Al Hoceima. According to Abdessadak Elbouchattaoui, a Hirak lawyer, El Attabi’s family hopes that the one responsible of their son’s death will be brought to justice.
Activists in Al Hoceima alongside a number of civilians that came from all over the country took the street yesterday marching for freedom, dignity and social justice. Despite an official ban protesters managed to gather clashing with security forces that fired teargas as a response. Reacting to the event, activists and politicians commented on Al Hoceima’s unrest via Facebook.
