A number of «Hirak» activists and citizens are set to participate to a march scheduled a week ago on the 20th of July 2017. Banned by the local authorities, security forces and locals in the city of Al Hoceima are getting ready.
Several leading figures of the Hirak popular movement reacted on Monday night to the prohibition of a peaceful march, scheduled for Thursday the 20th of July in Al Hoceima. Among them, El Mortada Iamrachen who launched an appeal for Moroccans living abroad currently on holidays.
Thousands of Moroccans have taken the streets yesterday in Rabat to manifest against corruption and support recent protests in the Rif region that have been ongoing for more than seven months. Speaking numbers, MAP news agency reported that 12 000 to 15 000 people participated to the march while Al Adl Wal Ihsane movement has indicated that the number of protesters has reached 1 million.
