Citing a study conducted by Moroccan researchers, Professor Azeddine Ibrahimi announced that Morocco has registered its first variant of SARS-CoV-2, detected in Ouarzazate and named «B.1.528». The study also reports «the emergence of 25 Moroccan mutations» and the presence of 28 variants of Covid-19 in the Kingdom.
In a few weeks time, a nationwide vaccination campaign against Covid-19 will begin. To this end, King Mohammed VI has given his instructions to prepare for the smooth running of this large-scale operation.
