Morocco has highlighted its limited threat from gun crime in the bidding proposal it submitted to host the 2026 World Cup, referring to the US’ gun policy.
On Monday, the Saudi's Sports Authority's chairman tweeted saying that his country might not support the Moroccan bid to host the 2026 World Cup. Two days later, the Saudi ambassador to Rabat assured that such tweets shouldn't affect the diplomatic relations between the two nations.
In one of its latest statements, the Polisario told El Pais that it supports the Moroccan bid to host the 2026 bid as an «African country».
Because of the support Morocco showed lately for Qatar, Saudi Arabia's vote for the 2026 World Cup will be based on what serves its own interest.
