Unlike what happened in 2014, Morocco took its time before the Council of Ministers, chaired Tuesday by King Mohammed VI, adopted the fisheries agreement signed with the European Union.
Spanish Agriculture Minister Luis Planas has urged the Moroccan Parliament to quickly ratify the fisheries agreement. Unless an extraordinary session is called, Spain has to wait until April.
In a motion for resolution submitted last week, 110 MEPs urged the European Parliament to seek an opinion from the Court of Justice before voting the fisheries agreement. Last month, a similar resolution was rejected by the EU Parliament before voting the Association agreement.
