Morocco records highest daily infections, with 3,445 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours

3,445 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 146,398.

2,747 new recoveries were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 123,022.

44 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 2,530. 18 of these deaths were recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region, 10 in the Oriental region, 5 in Marrakech-Safi, 3 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 2 in Beni Mellal-Khénifra, 2 in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, 2 in Fès-Meknes, one death in Souss-Massa and another in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra.

The country has 20,846 active cases, including 425 in critical conditions. 33 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 1,490 cases: 1,171 in Casablanca, 80 in Berrechid, 64 in Settat, 62 in Nouaceur, 37 in El Jadida, 29 in Mohammedia , 14 in Benslimane and 3 cases in Sidi Bennour. Next comes Souss-Massa with 680 cases: 534 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul, 130 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 7 in Tata, 6 in Taroudant and 3 cases in Chtouka-Ait Baha.

Rabat-Salé-Kénitra follows with 280 new infections: 74 in Skhirat-Témara, 69 in Salé, 49 in Rabat, 45 in Kénitra, 29 in Sidi Slimane, 12 in Khemisset and 2 cases in Sidi Kacem.

231 new cases were confirmed in Beni Mellal-Khénifra: 79 in Beni Mellal, 47 in Khouribga, 37 in Khénifra, 36 in Azilal and 32 cases in Fqih Bensaleh. The Oriental region recorded 214 new cases: 142 in Oujda-Angad, 27 in Nador, 15 in Jerada, 10 in Taourirt, 9 in Guercif, 6 in Berkane, 3 in Driouch and two cases in Figuig.

In Marrakech-Safi, 175 cases were also confirmed: 109 in Marrakech, 21 in Rhamna, 17 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 11 in Youssoufia, 5 in Al Haouz, 5 in Chichaoua, 5 in Essaouira and two case in Safi.

Drâa-Tafilalet recorded 117 new infections: 57 in Errachidia, 24 in Midelt, 21 in Tinghir, 11 in Ouarzazate and 4 cases in Zagora.

112 infections were recorded in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (39 in Tétouan, 28 in Tanger-Assilah, 17 in Larache, 12 in M'Diq-Fnideq, 9 in Al Hoceima, 4 in Ouazzane and 3 in Chefchaouen) as well as 75 confirmed cases in Fès-Meknes (24 in Ifrane, 18 in Fès, 10 in Taounate, 9 in Taza, 9 in Meknes and 5 cases in Sefrou).

In the southern provinces, the province of Oued Ed-Dahab (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab) recorded 33 new infections, while 25 cases were recorded in Guelmim-Oued Noun (18 in Guelmim, 5 in Sidi Ifni, one case in Tan Tan and another in Assa Zag) and 13 infections were discovered in Laâyoune (Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra).
