Coronavirus : Morocco records highest number of daily infections and deaths

4,495 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 229,565.

2,808 new recoveries were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 189,909.

74 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 3,900. 22 of these deaths were recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region, 10 in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, 8 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 8 in Marrakech-Safi, 6 in the Oriental, 6 in Beni Mellal-Khénifra , 5 in Fès-Meknes, 4 in Souss-Massa, 3 in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra and two deaths in Drâa-Tafilalet.

The country has 35,765 active cases, including 869 in critical conditions. 70 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat region recorded 2,109 new cases: 1,780 in Casablanca, 107 in Nouaceur, 81 in Mohammedia, 38 in Settat, 30 in Berrechid, 26 in Mediouna, 25 in El Jadida, 21 in Benslimane and one case in Sidi Bennour. Then comes the Oriental region with 663 new cases: 291 in Oujda-Angad, 183 in Nador, 56 in Jerada, 50 in Berkane, 30 in Driouch, 21 in Figuig, 19 in Guercif and 13 cases in Taourirt.

Rabat-Salé-Kenitra follows with 658 new infections: 179 in Salé, 139 in Skhirat-Témara, 117 in Kénitra, 88 in Rabat, 50 in Khemisset, 44 in Sidi Kacem and 41 cases in Sidi Slimane. 269 cases were confirmed in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima: 149 in Tanger-Assilah, 49 in Tétouan, 22 in Al Hoceima, 19 in M'Diq-Fnideq, 18 in Larache, 10 in Ouazzane and two cases in Fahs Anjra.

Beni Mellal-Khénifra recorded 167 new infections: 64 in Beni Mellal, 48 in Fqih Bensaleh, 29 in Khouribga, 21 in Azilal and 5 cases in Khénifra. Souss-Massa has 161 new cases: 124 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 25 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul and 12 cases in Tiznit.

In Marrakech-Safi, 157 cases were recorded: 109 in Marrakech, 17 in Youssoufia, 17 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 7 cases in Rhamna and 7 others in Essaouira.

69 confirmed infections were recorded in Fès-Meknes (21 in Fez, 21 in Taza, 14 in Meknes, 8 in Sefrou, 4 in Taounate and one case in El Hajeb), 69 in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (50 in Laâyoune, 12 in Es-Smara and 7 cases in Boujdour) and 67 in Drâa-Tafilalet (23 in Errachidia, 20 in Midelt, 13 in Tinghir and 11 cases in Ouarzazate).

In the southern provinces, 58 new infections were recorded in Guelmim-Oued Noun (47 in Guelmim, 6 in Tan Tan and 5 in Sidi Ifni) and 48 others were confirmed in Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab.
