On November 25 and 26, Algerian Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum visited Nigeria. The Algerian foreign minister met his Nigerian counterpart Geoffrey Onyeama.

According to Algerian news agency APS, the two ministers carried out an overall assessment of «bilateral and multisectoral cooperation between Algeria and Nigeria» and hailed the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation existing between the two countries.

The two ministers «welcomed the convergence of points of view on major regional and international issues of common interest and exchanged opinions on topical issues, with particular emphasis on the situation in Mali, the Sahel region and Libya, as well as the situation in Western Sahara», the same source added.

Although Nigeria is one of the countries, which recognizes «SADR», Abuja has pursued a more moderate policy towards Morocco, since the royal visit to this country in 2016. The Nigerian authorities have since then distanced themselves from the Front.
