Covid-19 : Morocco records 2,647 new infections, 50 deaths

2,647 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 412,393.

2,727 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 372,725.

50 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 6,854. 13 of these deaths were recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region, 8 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 7 in Fès-Meknès, 6 in Marrakech-Safi, 6 in Souss-Massa, 4 in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, 2 in Beni Mellal-Khénifra, 2 in Drâa-Tafilalet, 1 in the Oriental and 1 in Guelmim-Oued Noun.

The country has 32,814 active cases, including 1,097 in critical conditions. 95 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 1,079 infections: 824 in Casablanca, 76 in Mohammedia, 53 in El Jadida, 45 in Nouaceur, 44 in Berrechid, 22 in Benslimane, 10 in Mediouna and 5 in Settat. Next is Rabat-Salé-Kénitra with 391 cases: 96 in Salé, 73 in Skhirat-Témara, 59 in Rabat, 54 in Kénitra, 50 in Sidi Kacem, 32 in Khemisset and 27 in Sidi Slimane.

Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma follows with 321 new cases: 149 in Tanger-Assilah, 58 in Tétouan, 36 in M'diq-Fnideq, 32 in Al Hoceima, 23 in Larache, 12 in Chefchaouen, 6 in Fahs Anjra and 5 in Ouazzane. 228 new infections were recorded in Marrakech-Safi: 145 in Marrakech, 23 in Essaouira, 16 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 15 in Chichaoua, 11 in Safi, 9 in Al Haouz, 6 in Youssoufia and 3 in Rhamna.

Souss-Massa confirmed 159 cases: 59 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 41 in Inzegane-Aït Melloul, 28 in Tiznit, 19 in Taroudant and 12 in Chtouka-Ait Baha. The Oriental region recorded 144 infections: 67 in Oujda-Angad, 30 in Nador, 20 in Berkane, 10 in Jerada, 10 in Taourirt and 7 in Driouch.

72 cases were recorded in Beni Mellal-Khénifra (30 in Fqih Bensaleh, 18 in Beni Mellal, 9 in Khénifra, 8 in Azilal and 7 in Khouribga), 69 in Fès-Meknes (26 in Fès, 14 in Taza, 12 in Meknès, 11 in Sefrou, 4 in Boulmane and 2 in Taounate) as well as 62 in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (55 in Laâyoune, 4 in Boujdour and 3 in Es-Samara).

61 cases were recorded in Drâa-Tafilalet (21 in Errachidia, 14 in Midelt, 10 in Ouarzazate, 10 in Tinghir and 6 in Zagora), 48 in Guelmim-Oued Noun (32 in Guelmim, 10 in Tan Tan, 5 in Sidi Ifni and 1 in Assa Zag), and 13 in the province of Oued Ed-Dahab (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab).
