Police in the provincial district of Nador foiled, Sunday, an attempt of irregular migration and arrested a 25-year-old individual allegedly involved in the organization of this criminal activity and human trafficking.
This security operation resulted in the arrest of 44 would-be migrants, including women, said the national police (DGSN), adding that these candidates were supposed to migrate irregularly from the maritime area between the Bocana beach and the lagoon of Marchika.
During this intervention, an inflatable boat with an outboard motorized pod, life jackets and drums filled with gasoline were also seized.
The smuggler, a convict for constituting a criminal gang, and the candidates for irregular migration underwent a judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office in order to identify the accomplices in this criminal network and determine its possible ramifications in Morocco and abroad, said the same source.
