Covid-19 in Morocco : 581 new infections and 10 deaths on Friday

581 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 497,257. 4,331,082 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine so far, while 3,840,569 people have received the second.

513 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 484,224.

10 deaths were recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths to 8,835. 6 of these deaths were recorded in the region of Casablanca-Settat, 1 in Marrakech-Safi, 1 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 1 in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima and 1 in Beni Mellal-Khénifra.

The country has 4,198 active cases, including 420 in critical conditions. 25 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 412 infections: 323 in Casablanca, 25 in Nouaceur, 16 in Berrechid, 13 in Mohammedia, 13 in Mediouna, 9 in El Jadida, 6 in Sidi Bennour, 6 in Settat and 1 in Benslimane. Then comes the Oriental region with 38 cases: 11 in Oujda-Angad, 11 in Taourirt, 6 in Driouch, 5 in Jerada, 3 in Nador and 2 in Berkane.

Marrakech-Safi follows with 29 cases: 20 in Marrakech, 4 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 2 in Chichaoua, 1 in Essaouira, 1 in the province of Al Haouz and 1 in Safi. 30 infections were recorded in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra: 8 in Skhirat-Témara, 5 in Rabat, 5 in Salé, 2 in Kénitra, 1 in Sidi Kacem and 1 in Khemisset.

Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima recorded 17 new cases: 6 in Tanger-Assilah, 6 in Larache, 3 in Chefchaouen, 1 in M'Diq-Fnideq and 1 in Al Hoceima. Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab confirmed 16 new infections recorded in the province of Oued Ed-Dahab.

14 cases were confirmed in Souss-Massa (9 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane and 5 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul), 10 in Fès-Meknes (6 in Taza, 2 in Meknes and 2 in Fez) as well as 9 cases in Drâa-Tafilalet (5 in Errachidia, 3 in Tinghir and 1 in Zagora).

Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra recorded 8 new cases (6 in Laâyoune and 2 in Boujdour) while Beni Mellal-Khénifra confirmed 6 new infections (5 in Khouribga and 1 in Azilal).
