696 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 499,025. 4,382,917 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine so far, while 3,992,324 people have received the second.
546 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 485,708.
8 deaths were recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths to 8,865. 4 of these deaths were recorded in Casablanca-Settat, 2 in Marrakech-Safi, 1 in the Oriental region and 1 in Fès-Meknes.
The country has 4,452 active cases, including 442 in critical conditions. 20 of them are on ventilators.
Casablanca-Settat recorded 528 infections: 363 in Casablanca, 46 in Nouaceur, 39 in Mohammedia, 29 in Settat, 23 in Berrechid, 15 in El Jadida, 9 in Mediouna, 2 in Benslimane and 2 in Sidi Bennour. Then comes Rabat-Salé-Kénitra with 51 cases: 27 in Kénitra, 8 in Salé, 6 in Skhirat-Témara, 5 in Rabat, 4 in Sidi Kacem and 1 in Khemisset.
Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima follows with 31 cases: 14 in Tanger-Assilah, 8 in M'diq-Fnideq, 7 in Larache, 1 in Tetouan and 1 in Al Hoceima. 21 infections were recorded in Marrakech-Safi: 18 in Marrakech, 2 in Rhamna and 1 in Safi.
The Oriental region recorded 17 new infections: 13 in Oujda-Angad, 3 in Taourirt and 1 in Berkane. Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab recorded 14 cases, all in the province of Oued Ed-Dahab.
14 confirmed infections were recorded in Souss-Massa (7 in Tiznit, 4 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 2 in Taroudant and 1 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul), 6 in Beni Mellal-Khénifra (5 in Khouribga and 1 in Beni Mellal) as well as 6 cases in the town of Errachidia (Drâa-Tafilalet).
Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra recorded 5 new infections (4 in Laâyoune and 1 in Boujdour) 3 in Fès-Meknes (2 in Meknes and 1 in Fez).
