Covid-19 in Morocco : 600 new infections and 7 deaths on Thursday

600 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 507,938. 4,707,658 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine so far, while 4,207,298 people have received the second.

520 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 493,873.

7 deaths were recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths to 8,976. 4 of these deaths were recorded in Casablanca-Settat, 1 in Marrakech-Safi, 1 in Souss-Massa and 1 in Fès-Meknes.

The country has 5,089 active cases, including 381 in critical conditions. 14 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 421 cases: 328 in Casablanca, 29 in Nouaceur, 22 in Mohammedia, 16 in Berrechid, 10 in Settat, 10 in El Jadida and 6 in Mediouna. Then comes Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, with 51 cases: 22 in Salé, 11 in Skhirat-Témara, 8 in Rabat, 5 in Kénitra and 5 in Sidi Kacem.

Marrakech-Safi follows with 26 cases: 23 in Marrakech, 1 in Rehamna, 1 in Safi and 1 in Essaouira. The Oriental region recorded 20 cases: 12 in Oujda-Angad, 5 in Driouch, 1 in Taourirt, 1 in Jerada and 1 in Guercif. Souss-Massa follows with 19 new cases: 7 in Inzegane-Aït Melloul, 5 in Chtouka-Aït Baha, 4 in Agadir-Ida Ou Tanane, 2 in Taroudant and 1 in Tiznit.

Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra confirmed 16 cases: 9 in Laâyoune and 7 in Boujdour. Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma recorded 16 new infections: 16 in Tanger-Assilah, 2 in M'diq-Fnidek, 2 in Tétouan and 1 in Larache. 14 infections were recorded in Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab, all in Oued Ed-Dahab.

Guelmim-Oued Noun recorded 6 cases, all in Guelmim. Beni Mellal-Khénifra confirmed 4 cases: 3 in Khénifra and 1 in Beni Mellal. Drâa-Tafilalet recorded 4 cases: 3 in Tinghir and 1 in Zagora. Fès-Meknes confirmed 3 cases: 1 in Fez, 1 in Meknes and 1 in Boulemane.
