Nador’s judicial police brigade on Wednesday aborted an international drug trafficking attempt and seized 5,030 kilograms of cannabis resin, National Police (DGSN) said in a statement.
This operation was carried out on the basis of precise information provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance in Fekhrana, 25 kilometers to Nador, and led to the seizure of 5,030 kilograms of cannabis resin in a home located at douar Inaala, the source added.
Five people were arrested for their alleged links to a criminal network involved in this operation, DGSN pointed out, adding that search operations led to the seizure of thirteen cars and two motorcycles which are suspected to be used in this criminal activity.
The suspects were placed on custody pending investigations led under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, in order to determine all the potential ramifications of this criminal network and arrest all the people involved in these activities.
