Covid-19 in Morocco : 240 new infections and 5 deaths on Sunday

240 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 519,108. 8,521,177 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine so far, while 5,242,075 people have received the second.

222 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 506,962.

5 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 9,143. 3 of these deaths were recorded in Casablanca-Settat and 2 in Souss-Massa.

The country has 3,003 active cases, including 236 in critical conditions. 10 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 133 cases: 115 in Casablanca, 10 in El Jadida, 5 in Nouaceur, 2 in Médiouna and 1 in Mohammedia. Next comes Marrakech-Safi with 32 cases: 29 in Marrakech, 1 in Rhamna, 1 in Essaouira and 1 in Youssoufia.

Rabat-Salé-Kénitra follows with 30 cases: 11 in Rabat, 7 in Skhirat-Témara, 6 in Salé, 3 in Kénitra, 2 in Sidi Kacem and 1 in Sidi Slimane. 14 infections were recorded in Souss Massa: 8 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 4 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul and 2 in Chtouka Ait Baha.

Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima recorded 11 new cases: 7 in Tanger-Assilah 3 in M'Diq-Fnideq and 1 in Ouazzane. The province of Oued Ed-Dahab (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab) confirmed 8 new infections.

8 cases were recorded in Laâyoune (Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra), 3 cases recorded in Oujda-Angad (Oriental), 3 infections confirmed in Fès (Fès-Meknès) and 1 confirmed case in Khouribga (Beni Mellal- Khenifra).
