Morocco ranked low risk for travel by the United-States' Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a United States federal agency under of the Department of Health and Human Services, updated on June 7th its recommendations regarding international travel.

In this period of Covid-19 crisis, a dedicated page gathering countries and territories around the world, ranking them in different categories related to the contamination risks. Forty-four destinations were put in an «unknown» list composed of countries, micro-countries and outer-sea territories. The known risk list is composed of 4 levels : very high, high, moderate and low.

Morocco found its way in the good student list and stand with other low risk countries, next to 55 territories and dependencies. For Morocco, if the agency states that people should make sure to be fully vaccinated, no other particular restriction is set for American citizens willing to travel to Morocco. A test is still recommended three to five days after landing back in Uncle Sam’s country. And for those that aren’t yet vaccinated, they have to present a test before traveling to Morocco and self-quarantine for 7 days if they have been tested and 10 if they have not.

This opening reminds us of the recent restriction imposed by France on June the 9th. The country put Morocco in the «orange» list with an «controlled but active circulation of the virus, without worrying mutants spread», showing the two readings of the French and American states concerning Morocco.
