The US Deputy Assistant Secretary Joshua Harris met on Friday, December 8, in Algiers with the Algerian foreign Affairs Minister Ahmed Attaf and his secretary general Lounès Magramane.
The officials consulted «on shared efforts to advance regional peace and security, including intensified cooperation to ensure a successful UN political process on Western Sahara without further delay», reads a post published by the Near Eastern Affairs office on X, formerly known as Twitter.
In September, Joshua Harris toured the region, visiting the Tindouf camps, where he met the leader of the Polisario. Then he stopped in Algiers, where he held talks with the Algerian foreign Affairs Minister. Lastly, Harris was received by Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita in Rabat.
