The Moroccan man who crossed the Mexico-US border, earlier this month, said he was struggling to find a place to live and work in New York. Ous, short for Oussama, had told media after irregularly crossing the US-Mexico border at Lukeville, Arizona, that he is not seeking asylum, and plans to work in the Big Apple.

«The problem I have is at work. I want to work here legally without violating the law, because I promised you in the video that it [illegally crossing the border] would be the first violation and the last violation», he told NewsNation and Border Correspondent Ali Bradley.

Ous, who is staying with a friend, said that he needs to work to afford a living in the city. But without a social security number and a driver’s license he is not able to do so, reports the Daily Mail.

«I'm going to New York City to my friend to help me with something and I will buy new bicycle and I will work Uber», Ous told Bradley in an earlier interview.

For the record, Ous told Fox news correspondent bill Melugin he «loves Joe Biden» and thanks him for everything. «I am a good person I want to be a good person here in the United States», he said in a video that was later shared to X, formerly known as Twitter.
