A Royal Navy frigate, on a maritime patrol mission in the Atlantic, rescued on Saturday 90 km from the military port of Dkhila, a canoe with 44 sub-Saharan migrants, including two minors.

The canoe in question was heading to the Canary Islands, indicates a press release by the Royal Armed Forces (FAR).

The rescued people received the necessary care before being transported to the port of Dakhla and entrusted to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual administrative procedures, adds the same source.
