The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations arrested a 24-year-old individual on Thursday, suspected of involvement in planning a terrorist attack in Salé for the purpose of disrupting public order. The suspect is allegedly affiliated with the terrorist organization «ISIS».
According to preliminary investigations, the individual reportedly pledged allegiance to ISIS and expressed interest in acquiring bomb-making skills, potentially influenced by extremist fatwas.
Prior to his arrest, he allegedly attempted to establish contact with ISIS intermediaries to facilitate joining the group in the Sahel region.
The suspect is currently in pre-trial detention while the Central Bureau of Judicial Research conducts an investigation under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor for terrorism cases. The investigation aims to uncover all the suspect's potential extremist activities and explore any connections with other terrorist organizations.
