European digital services company Inetum signed a memorandum of understanding with Morocco on Monday in Rabat to expand the group's activities in the kingdom, creating 1,500 jobs by 2027.
Signed by Jacques Pommeraud, Chairman and CEO of Inetum Group, Minister Delegate for Investment Mohcine Jazouli, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies), and Minister Delegate for the Digital Transition and Administration Reform Ghita Mezzour, this agreement will cover a provisional investment of over 50 million dirhams.
The memorandum of understanding aims to «strengthen cooperation between Inetum Group and the Kingdom of Morocco to achieve common strategic objectives, including supporting Morocco's digital transition by investing in advanced technologies, developing innovative services and creating high-skilled, high-value-added jobs», reads a press release sent Monday to Yabiladi.
The project is also expected to develop nearshore by improving customer service with a better investment/efficiency ratio, as well as accelerate the integration of Generative AI into all types of clients. It also aims to support the local growth of IT needs, in line with the country's economic development, the statement said.

Inetum's tripling of its workforce in Morocco by 2027 offers an opportunity for highly qualified professionals in Morocco. We also plan to set up a Purchasing service center in Casablanca, which will become an operational center for the entire Inetum Group», said Jacques Pommeraud, Chairman and CEO of Inetum Group.

Inetum has been established in Morocco since 2003 and has a FabLab, opened in 2021 in Casablanca. Inetum currently employs 800 people in Morocco.
