Morocco heatwave alert : Temperatures to soar to 47°C this weekend

The General Directorate of Meteorology expects a heatwave with temperatures ranging from 38 to 47 degrees Celsius from Saturday until Monday across several regions of the Kingdom.

In an orange-level warning bulletin, the Directorate explained that temperatures between 38 and 43 degrees are expected from Saturday until next Monday in the communes and provinces of Figuig, Taourirt, Guercif, Boulemane, Azilal, Khouribga, Fquih Ben Salah, Jerada, Beni Mellal, Khenifra, Settat, Al Haouz, Youssoufia, Chichaoua, Rhamna, Marrakech, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Ouarzazate, Midelt, Essaouira, Agadir Ida-Outanane, Taroudant, Guelmim, Tan-Tan, and Laayoune.

Additionally, temperatures between 43 and 47 degrees will be recorded during the same period in Zagora, Tinghir, Errachidia, Tata, Assa-Zag, Smara, Boujdour, Oued Ed-Dahab, and Aousserd.
