German prosecutors have confirmed the arrest of Raja de Casablanca president Mohamed Boudrika at Hamburg airport on an international arrest warrant. «He is being held pending extradition to the Moroccan authorities», the prosecutor's office stated.

Boudrika was traveling to Hamburg on Wednesday to meet with first-team coach Josef Zinnbauer to convince him to continue coaching the Green team.

Last March, the Aïn Sebaa Criminal Court sentenced Mohamed Boudrika in absentia to a one-year suspended prison sentence and a fine of 232,500 dirhams for issuing bad cheques. Two complaints were lodged against him in this case, in his capacity as the legal representative of a property development company.

Two months later, the Casablanca administrative court ordered Mohamed Boudrika's removal from the presidency of the Mers Sultan district council. The governor of the Mers Sultan-El Fida prefecture referred the case to the court due to Boudrika's prolonged absence from his duties as the elected official and head of the commune under the RNI party.
