Morocco braces for four-day heatwave : Temperatures to soar to 47°C

A severe heatwave is expected to grip several Moroccan provinces from Tuesday to Friday, with temperatures soaring between 42°C and 47°C (107.6°F and 116.6°F). The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an «orange» alert in response.

From Tuesday to Friday, temperatures in Beni Mellal, Fquih Bensaleh, Guercif, Taounate, Taza, Settat, and Khouribga are forecast to range from 42°C to 46°C (107.6°F and 114.8°F).

A more intense heatwave is predicted for Wednesday to Friday, with temperatures climbing to between 43°C and 47°C (109.4°F and 116.6°F) in Marrakech, Rehamna, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Aousserd, Oued Ed-Dahab, Boujdour, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Tata, and Taroudant.
