Previously president of the Public Intercommunal Cooperation Establishment (ECI) of Greater Casablanca, «Al Baida», the mayor of the Moroccan metropolis, Nabila Rmili, has been removed from this position. Applications for the presidency are open from July 25 to 29, 2024.

The administrative procedure was initiated by the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Governor of the Casablanca-Settat region, Mohamed Mhidia, who noted the absence of the RNI leader from her duties as head of the ECI.

Applications for the ECI presidency must include a personal application from the candidate, a certificate issued by the candidate's political party, a copy of the candidate's national identity card, and two photos.

Comprising 18 communes, the «Al Baida» ECI's mission is to implement development projects voted on in the territory of the local authorities of Greater Casablanca. On November 29, 2021, Nabila Rmili was unanimously elected to lead it, more than a month after the September 8 general elections.

However, the ECI President was unable to hold a number of regular sessions due to a lack of quorum. As a result, the approval of several transport-related projects has been postponed.
