Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch held talks on Saturday in Shanghai with Lei Xu, Chairman of the SUNRISE Group, a global leader in the textile industry with offices in several Asian countries.

The meeting, attended by the Minister of Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policies, Mohcine Jazouli, and the Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development, Ali Seddiki, took place on the sidelines of Akhannouch’s visit to China, where he is representing King Mohammed VI at the Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

During the talks, the Head of Government expressed Morocco’s support for the implementation of a strategic investment project by the SUNRISE Group in Morocco, valued at 4.1 billion dirhams. This project is expected to create 11,000 direct jobs over the next three years across several regions of the Kingdom, through the launch of industrial initiatives that will integrate the entire ecosystem.

The SUNRISE Group’s investment will help revitalize Morocco's national textile sector, integrating it fully into global value chains, while also contributing to the government’s strategy of prioritizing job creation.
