Morocco wins bronze at World Sambo Beach Championships

Morocco clinched the bronze medal at the fourth edition of the World Sambo Beach Championships, which concluded on Sunday at Ain Diab beach in Casablanca. The country shared third place with Cameroon. Russia claimed gold, while silver went to Romania.

The national team's coach, Imad Mohamed, praised the achievement, saying it was a testament to the efforts made by the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sambo and Tai-Jitsu (FRMSTJ). «The bronze medal won, and the presence of three Moroccan champions on the podium in individual events, demonstrate the strength of the Moroccan selection, considered to be one of the best at Arab and African levels», he emphasized.

He noted that the Moroccan champions' exploits aligned with the FRMSTJ's expectations of reaching international podiums. The exposure of Moroccan athletes to the world's best schools would contribute to elevating the level of the discipline. He added, «The World Sambo Beach Championship is an opportunity to prepare for upcoming competitions, particularly the World Sambo Championship scheduled for November 6-11 in Kazakhstan».

Alexander Korsik, Director of Finance and Development at the International Sambo Federation, reported that the fourth edition of the World Beach Sambo Championship held in Morocco was «a great success», highlighting «the very high level of organization and the efforts made by the various stakeholders to ensure the success of this sporting event at all levels».

Three Moroccans were crowned champions on Day 1 of the 4th World Sambo Beach Championships (September 7-8). They were Nasma Satori (+72 kg), Mohamed Amine Frifra (71 kg), and Yassine Omari (+88 kg), who won bronze medals in the competition.
