Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) has announced its entry into the sports sector through its newly established subsidiary, EVOSPORT. The initiative aims to develop a sustainable sports ecosystem in Morocco, aligning with the national strategy to leverage sports as a driver of economic and social progress.
According to a press release issued by UM6P in Benguerir on December 12, 2024, EVOSPORT will operate across three main areas: sports infrastructure development, academic training, and socio-economic development.
The subsidiary has been tasked with implementing the National Training Fund program, established through a partnership between the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), OCP Group, and other private stakeholders.
UM6P President Hicham El Habti stated that EVOSPORT will focus on structuring the sports sector while nurturing new talent that will contribute to sports development across Africa.
The subsidiary plans to address current industry needs through innovative solutions and academic programs while promoting sports as a catalyst for socio-economic development. This initiative is part of UM6P's broader mission, which began in 2017, to train new generations across various fields and position Morocco as a leading regional and global sports hub.
