Nizar Baraka, Minister of Equipment and Water, stated on Tuesday in Rabat that the program to construct sills for artificially recharging the water table could help save several oases following recent rainfall.

In response to an oral question in the House of Councillors regarding «the urgency of drilling wells to save oases», Baraka highlighted the positive impact of the rainfall in September and October on many oases.

He added that, as part of exploratory drilling efforts, individuals with well permits now have the opportunity to deepen their wells further to support the preservation of oases and fruit trees.
