Snow and thunderstorms forecasted for Thursday in Morocco

Snowfall and heavy thunderstorms are expected on Thursday in several provinces of Morocco, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).

Snowfall ranging from 5 to 15 cm is forecast at elevations above 1,600 meters between 9 AM and 6 PM in the provinces of Al Haouz, Azilal, Midelt, Tinghir, Beni Mellal, Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Ifrane, and Boulemane, the DGM announced in an orange-level alert bulletin.

Additionally, heavy thunderstorms producing 30 to 50 mm of rainfall, accompanied by hail, are expected between 10 AM and 4 PM in the provinces of Fès, Moulay Yacoub, and Taounate.

From 1 PM to 7 PM, this weather phenomenon will also affect the provinces of Chefchaouen, Al Hoceïma, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt, Guercif, Berkane, Driouch, Nador, Jerada, and Boulemane, according to the same source.
