Morocco’s Minister of National Territory Planning, Urban Development, Housing and City Policy, Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, announced Monday before Parliament that the number of beneficiaries of the housing support program has reached 71,114 to date.

Responding to a question on the state’s direct support for primary home ownership, El Mansouri said that 171,000 citizens had applied for the subsidy. Of those approved, 24% are Moroccans living abroad (MREs), 47% are women, and 54% are young people under 40.

She added that 63% of beneficiaries received 70,000 dirhams, while 37% benefited from 100,000 dirhams in assistance. The monthly average of supported housing units increased from 2,400 in 2024 to 3,600 in 2025, reflecting the sector’s growing momentum.

According to the minister, the program’s impact extends to the broader economy, with cement sales up 12.5%, housing loans up 3%, and real estate developer activity up 7.58%, while small and medium enterprises contributed over 80%. The construction and public works sector also generated 74,000 new jobs.

Mansouri stressed that the program has already achieved significant results, adding that the 2026 Finance Bill includes provisions allowing co-owners of shared properties to benefit from this housing support.
