As part of the ongoing effort to bolster national companies in their global ventures, the second conference of the Export Morocco Now program focused on the Moroccan-Spanish agri-food value chains. This event, held in Rabat, was organized by the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), in collaboration with the Ministry of Investment, Convergence, and the Evaluation of Public Policies (MICEPP) and San Telmo Business School.
The conference underscored the potential of the Spanish market, Morocco's leading trade partner, and explored opportunities within the European Union for Moroccan exports with added value. According to a statement, discussions centered on «the integration of value chains, innovation and financing levers, technology transfer, and the identification of promising segments in Europe».
Moroccan businesses had the chance to «explore innovative models, particularly in agri-tech, and identify concrete market access opportunities». The spotlight was also on «Morocco's strengths as a regional production and processing hub, capable of meeting international standards in terms of quality, sustainability, traceability, and competitiveness», the source added.
The event also served to «reaffirm the strength of the comprehensive strategic Moroccan-Spanish partnership, revitalized following the visit of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to Rabat in April 2022, at the invitation of King Mohammed VI, which culminated in the adoption of a Joint Declaration».
The meetings gathered institutional leaders, including the Spanish ambassador to Morocco, representatives from MICEPP, ASMEX, and the CEMAES Groupe Crédit Agricole du Maroc, along with experts, economic actors, and leading companies in the Moroccan and Spanish agri-food sectors.
