On Thursday, the Government Council approved two draft decrees implementing the Royal Decision declaring October 31 a national holiday under the name Aid Al Wahda (Unity Day).
The first text, Draft Decree No. 2.26.14, supplements Decree No. 2.04.426 of December 29, 2004, which sets out the list of paid public holidays in both the agricultural and non-agricultural sectors. The draft was presented by the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment, and Skills, according to Government Spokesperson and Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament Mustapha Baitas, speaking at a press briefing following the Council meeting.
The Council also approved Draft Decree No. 2.25.1140, which amends Decree No. 2.77.169 of February 28, 1977, establishing the list of public holidays observed by public administrations, public institutions, and concessionary services. This draft was presented by the Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Baitas added.
According to the government spokesperson, the Royal Decision marking Aid Al Wahda as a national holiday represents a historic milestone linked to the Kingdom’s foremost national cause. It aims to reinforce national unity and reaffirm Morocco’s unwavering attachment to its national constants and legitimate rights.
