French Minister Delegate for Francophonie, International Partnerships, and French Citizens Abroad, Éléonore Caroit, is set to visit Morocco from Monday, May 4 to Tuesday, May 5, 2026. This visit underscores the strong bilateral ties between France and Morocco, particularly in development cooperation.

The French Embassy in Morocco announced that on Monday, May 4, Minister Caroit will tour projects funded by the French Development Agency (AFD), focusing on water and sanitation, urban transport, and sustainable forest management.

On the following day, Éléonore Caroit will inaugurate the new premises of Expertise France and the Research Institute for Development at the embassy's diplomatic campus. The minister will also take part in the African Open Government Summit, which runs from May 5 to 7 in Rabat, according to embassy sources.

During her visit, Minister Caroit is scheduled to meet with Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, as well as Aidan Eyakuza, CEO of the Open Government Partnership.

This visit also coincides with the International Book and Publishing Fair (SIEL 2026), where France is this year's guest of honor. Caroit will attend alongside Mohamed Saad Berrada, Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, and participate in launching a French language reading competition.
