Morocco unveils new digital portal for foreign trade procedures

Morocco officially launched the Moroccan Foreign Trade Procedures Portal in Casablanca on Monday, a new national platform designed to simplify, harmonize and digitalize import and export procedures.

The initiative was launched by the State Secretariat in charge of Foreign Trade alongside National Ports Agency (ANP), Tanger Med Port Authority (TMPA), Administration of Customs and Indirect Taxes (ADII) and PORTNET during a ceremony attended by several senior officials, including Nizar Baraka, Ryad Mezzour, Abdessamad Kayouh and Omar Hejira.

Authorities said the portal is intended to streamline access to foreign trade procedures by connecting the information systems of the various administrations and public bodies involved, rather than creating an additional standalone platform.

Through the portal, businesses will be able to access trade procedures more easily, reduce duplicate data entry, limit information gaps, better track administrative processes and benefit from improved coordination between public institutions.

The launch forms part of Morocco’s broader digital transformation and trade facilitation strategy aimed at strengthening the kingdom’s competitiveness and reinforcing its position as a regional hub for international trade and logistics.

The project also follows the strategic rapprochement between the ANP and TMPA within PORTNET, a move intended to improve the coherence of digital systems linked to foreign trade and support the growing flow of maritime, airport and land transport operations.

During the ceremony, stakeholders signed a memorandum of understanding supporting the strategic partnership between the ANP and TMPA for the benefit of PORTNET, aimed at helping deploy the portal and simplifying administrative procedures through digitalization and integration.

A second agreement was signed to support the launch and operationalization of the new national portal by strengthening interoperability and secure coordination between the information systems of the administrations concerned. A third partnership agreement formalized TMPA’s integration into PORTNET’s capital structure.
